These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the services provided by Spendix ("we", "us", or "our") through our website and web application ("the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts to use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Our Service allows users to:

• Upload expense data via CSV files
• Manually add expenses
• Connect to their bank accounts via third-party providers (e.g., Plaid) for automatic expense import
• Use AI-based tools to categorize expenses

3. Account and Data

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information when creating and using your account. You agree to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your data.

By connecting your financial accounts, you agree to the terms of our third-party provider (e.g., Plaid) and authorize us to retrieve and use your financial data to provide the Service.

4. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services such as Plaid for data aggregation and analytics platforms (e.g., Umami) to monitor website usage. Our Service is hosted on third-party infrastructure providers (such as Railway), and user data may be stored or processed through those services in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You acknowledge that your use of such features may be subject to the third parties' own terms and privacy practices.

5. AI-Generated Categorization

Our AI categorization is provided as an assistive tool. We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI suggestions. You remain responsible for reviewing and confirming all categorization of your expenses.

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful purposes
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Transmit spam, malware, or harmful content
• Scrape, copy, or misuse our content or data
• Impersonate others or provide misleading information

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and software in the Service are owned by us or our licensors. You may not reuse or reproduce any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

8. Service Availability

We strive to provide a reliable Service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify or suspend features at any time without notice.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms. You may cancel your use of the Service at any time.

10. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including data loss or service interruptions.

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes shall be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction.
